Mersey Rivers Trust Big Volunteering Day
Join us as we kick off National Volunteering Week with a Big Volunteering Day! Come along and see what we do, how we do it, and if you would like to get involved in volunteering with us in the future. There will be demonstrations of riverbank restoration, kick sampling, water quality sampling, invasive species control and activities for children too. We look forward to seeing you there!!

Join us to carry out restoration of a riverbank in Hale with volunteers from Birkin Fly Fishers. We will be restoring areas of riverbank where they have eroded using willow and hazel rods, which also boosts the natural habitat as well as restoring areas where riverbank has been lost. BEACON is holding a Volunteer Thank You Event for our River Guardians who work so hard to collect water quality data we need so desperately. We will be talking about our successes so far, and what we have planned for 2018 and launching an app which should make collecting and analyzing the water quality data much easier. Working Party – Friends of the Carrs
Come along to the Carrs to help us with our winter working party! We will be planting wildflower bulbs and plug plants, and working to protect newly planted areas. All of this and alongside general clean-up activities including litter picking, mending fences, and planting self-seeded trees. There is something for anyone of any age or ability to get involved in.
