Balsam Bashing Hale Golf Club Volunteer

Throughout the summer BEACON holds events and working parties where you can volunteer your time to help with the control and eradication of invasive non-native species.

In the winter, our work focusses on water pollution issues, and we have the River Guardian citizen science programme that is open to anyone who is interested.

If you’re interested in helping in a less physical way we always need help surveying the catchment for invasive non-native species, creating digital maps, organising and attending events and shows, fundraising, developing interpretation for the public, and educational resources for schools.

If you would like to survey for invasive species in your local area you can download the surveyor pack here.

If you would like to host your own balsam bash there is information and resources to help you do this that can be downloaded here.

Data recording sheets for the River Guardian project can be downloaded here BEACON River Guardian Recording Sheet v2.

To get involved in events happening near you check out our events page here.

If you would like to get involved in any other ways, or would like more information please get in touch using the contact form here.
